Vancouver is home to some of the world‘s most beautiful urban parks and each one offers a unique opportunity to access nature. Environmental stewardship in parks can provide an opportunity to create a personal connection to the natural environment while protecting and enhancing it at the same time. As a community, we can care for and about parks through community-driven activations, projects and programming.

Join like-minded volunteers and local park stewards in Stanley Park to enhance Vancouver’s largest urban forest by removing invasive species such as English ivy, Himalayan blackberry and Yellow flag iris. Learn firsthand about the threat invasive species pose to the native ecosystems. Visit the Stanley Park Ecology Society website to learn more about the EcoStewards program and how to register.
