“In a recent legislative session in Victoria, NDP MLA David Eby read out Tanner’s licensing request to Anton.
Eby said he believes Tanner’s plea seems reasonable, and he can’t understand why a government that is promising to get rid of B.C.’s “bizarre liquor laws” is not responsive.
“I can understand (Tanner’s) frustration,” Eby said. “I don’t know what magic occurs between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., so that people can enter a bar before 9 but they can’t have a beer.”
