Quoted from the article:
“TransLink Minister Peter Fassbender has ordered the transportation authority to ensure disabled people have access to SkyTrain and SeaBus before it closes the last of its faregates next month and makes the system fully operational.
The assurance followed criticism Tuesday from the NDP’s David Eby, who accused the provincial government of failing to protect the rights of the disabled by allowing TransLink to charge forward with a plan to close the remaining faregates at stations without determining how disabled riders will open the gates. Disabled passengers are given a BC One Pass, which do have the magnetic capability of the electronic Compass Card to tap and open the faregates.”
