What: Emergency housing affordability meeting
Who: Everyone who believes there is a problem in Metro Vancouver’s real estate market
When: Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 7 p.m.
Where: NEW LOCATION – Hellenic Hall, 4500 Arbutus St

Join MLA David Eby and local experts for an Emergency Housing Town Hall

This meeting is to discuss the causes of, and solutions to, an out-of-control real estate market in the Lower Mainland that has little or no connection to average household income. Issues of international speculation in our housing market, shadow flipping, real estate agent accountability, and other concerns will be addressed. Bring your stories, questions and concerns. The media, along with MLAs from both sides of the legislature, both BC Liberal and BC NDP, will be invited.

This is a meeting to hear stories, demand answers, and send a message to the Premier and the government to start to value the people of Metro Vancouver who make the communities we call home possible.

Please note NEW LOCATION: Wednesday March 16 from 7-9pm at the Hellenic Hall, 4500 Arbutus St. Doors at 6:30pm.

This is an annual Fund Raiser for Brock House Society, a Seniors Activity Centre on Jericho Beach. Located in a historic 100+ year old home, the whole Vancouver community is welcome to this free event.

Opening at 10:00 AM sharp and going until 3:00 PM visitors will find high quality items handcrafted onsite by Brock House members (art, ladies crafts, porcelain painting, and woodwork), a Silent Auction, a “thrift sale” featuring books, jewellery, various household items, and don’t forget the delicious home cooked jams and baked goods for sale. Enjoy the live music provided by our Orchestra, Big Band, and the Jazz Band and don’t forget reasonably priced lunch items hot off the grill. If you are feeling lucky buy a raffle ticket with a $1000 1st prize or one of our 50/50 draws.

Brock House is an A listed Heritage House on two and one half acres of City parkland at Point Grey, this is our major fundraiser and assists the Society with both the upkeep of the Heritage House and our continued social, intellectual, recreational and other cultural programs for seniors.
