Across Canada, October 1st is National Seniors Day; and nowhere across this country will you find more vibrant, engaged and connected seniors than right here on the Westside of Vancouver. The Westside Seniors Hub and Kits House is celebrating the amazing contributions and lives of all seniors on October 1st from 2 pm to 6 pm and all Westside residents are invited! If you are a senior, you know a senior or you appreciate seniors come celebrate. The day will feature:
- A talk with B.C. Seniors Advocate Isobel MacKenzie
- Check out the Seniors Hub NEW user-friendly WEBSITE & enter to win a prize
- Get to know your Westside Seniors Hub
- Info Booths on local programs & services
- Delicious Tea, Coffee & Snacks
- Tours of Kits House
- Vote Pop-Up Booth
Come celebrate the seasons at the Kits House Autumn Fair from 10am-3pm on Saturday, October 24th. There will be a pumpkin patch, pancake breakfast, live entertainment all day in the Community Hall, Carnival Games, fun food and activities for all to enjoy!

Halloween Howl Spook Fest (1-12 yrs)
Calling all ghosts and goblins! Participate in the Kitsilano Community Centre’s Halloween activities, make Halloween crafts, decorate cookies, have your face painted and MUCH, MUCH MORE! Pre-registration is encouraged as this event often sells out. Parent participation is required.

What: Emergency housing affordability meeting
Who: Everyone who believes there is a problem in Metro Vancouver’s real estate market
When: Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 7 p.m.
Where: NEW LOCATION – Hellenic Hall, 4500 Arbutus St
Join MLA David Eby and local experts for an Emergency Housing Town Hall
This meeting is to discuss the causes of, and solutions to, an out-of-control real estate market in the Lower Mainland that has little or no connection to average household income. Issues of international speculation in our housing market, shadow flipping, real estate agent accountability, and other concerns will be addressed. Bring your stories, questions and concerns. The media, along with MLAs from both sides of the legislature, both BC Liberal and BC NDP, will be invited.
This is a meeting to hear stories, demand answers, and send a message to the Premier and the government to start to value the people of Metro Vancouver who make the communities we call home possible.
