As part of the government’s efforts to support people with addictions along their journey to wellness, the Road to Recovery will be expanded. Road to Recovery provides variety of care for addictions — ranging from detox to treatment and after care. The planned expansion includes 100 substance-use treatment beds and outpatient services in all health authorities. Furthermore, it includes a single-access line to get connected to addictions care in each health-authority region. Since launching in Fall 2023, Road to Recovery has been quickly connecting people to the treatment they need: for example, more than 1,500 people were supported from October 2023 to June 2024. By expanding Road to Recovery, the government is taking a significant step towards building a comprehensive system of mental-health and addictions care for everyone in British Columbia.
