Come celebrate the seasons at the Kits House Autumn Fair from 10am-3pm on Saturday, October 24th. There will be a pumpkin patch, pancake breakfast, live entertainment all day in the Community Hall, Carnival Games, fun food and activities for all to enjoy!

Chinook Look
As part of this year’s Culture Days offerings, the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum presents a look at Chinook Jargon, the early trade language developed to bridge language barriers between First Nations and settlers of diverse racial backgrounds.
Try your hand at their Chinook matching game to earn lumber, fish and “gold nuggets”! Free entry during Culture Days, September 26 – 27th, 1 – 4 p.m. (donations always welcome!) Watch for details on future Chinook Jargon workshops at the mill!

Join the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum for another round of singalong sea shanties with the Lazy Jacks! Tunes are easy to learn and your participation is most heartily encouraged! September 20, 1 – 2 p.m. on the main floor, followed by old time fiddle music upstairs with Doug the Fiddler and ensemble, 2 – 4 p.m. Bring along whatever instrument you play and have a go! Entry by donation.
Book Reading
On Tuesday, September 22, local author Doris Gregory will read excerpts from her recently published book, “How I Won the War for the Allies” at Book Warehouse, 4118 Main St at 7pm. She’ll also share with you her adventures in writing the book, finding a publisher and marketing.
Those attending can expect a lively discussion. Light refreshments will be served.

Another awesome year of UBC FarmAde! Visit our mobile office at the open-air festival from 3-6pm at UBC Farm. Live music, vegan-friendly BBQ, farm-fresh corn and locally brewed beer will keep the festivities going until 8pm.
